How does the process start?

  • Set up an appointment time to meet with one of our landscape designers at your home.
  • At our first appointment we will gather as much information about the project from you as possible.  We will want to hear about how you envision the project and how you would like to use space.
  • We conduct a site analysis, measuring all the areas that will be affected by the project so we can accurately and approprietly design for the space.
  • The design is developed and a proposal is created.

Do you use subcontractors?

  • We have pretty much eliminated the use for subcontractors by regularly employing people who have a comprehensive range of skills and experience.  Experience has shown that we can control things far more easily by having our own employees perform the work.  Broken trucks, missing employees, or failure of equipment are problems far more easily solved if we have full control of the work, and projects can move ahead rapidly.  A few areas, such as ornamental iron work and special product installation requiring 120-volt electrical work may be subcontracted.

Why is mulching important?

  • Properly applied mulch will discourage weeds, prevent runoff, and help the soil retain moisture.

When is the best time to seed?

  • Throughout much of North America, the best time to seed your lawn is before or after the summer season. When the soil is warm and the nights are cool, your lawn requires less water; the less you water your lawn, the fewer weeds will grow. The ideal time to seed is... [more]

What's the best time to mow your lawn?

  • If you’re longing for a healthy and well-kept lawn, regular mowing will result in healthy turf and provide nourishment for your lawn’s root system. Mowing your residential or commercial lawn at the appropriate time will prevent damaged turf and reduce stress on grass. The most common rule of lawnmowing is... [more]

When should I apply lawn fertilizer?

  • For the perfect residential or commercial lawn, a fertilization schedule is just as important as the type of fertilizer you use. Fertilizing your lawn at the beginning of its natural growth cycle will result in a lush and weed-free lawn. Since grass gets two major growth periods - in the spring and in the fall - you should fertilize your lawn once during... [more]
